Xanthan Gum is a natural thickening and stabilizing agent derived from the fermentation of sugar by the Xanthomonas campestris bacteria. Known for its ability to create clear, smooth, and silky gels, Xanthan Gum is widely used in skincare, haircare, and cleansing formulations, including serums, creams, lotions, and shampoos. It provides excellent compatibility with a variety of cosmetic ingredients, including surfactants and active ingredients.
Formulation Guidelines:
- Disperse slowly into water while stirring to prevent clumping.
- Hydration improves when mixed with glycerin or propanediol before adding water.
- Suitable for serums, gels, creams, lotions, shampoos, and cleansers.
- Can be combined with Guar Gum or Hydroxyethyl Cellulose for enhanced viscosity and texture.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight to maintain stability.
